Aint No Thing But a Chicken Wing

Found this in a parking lot. Amputated arm of Foghorn Leghorn? Or maybe its some sort of rubbery doctor, what with that gloved hand. Any ideas?

Hello Little Silver Sour Cherry Kitty

Osito and I visited my childhood friend L and his lovely wife R in their beautiful home. They were so gracious and interesting, and fed us so much good food! And they have a Hello Kitty toaster that burns an imprint of HK right onto your bread!!!

And so here is my gratitude for the day: I am so very thankful to the universe (via fb) that brought me back around to L. He is a good, kind, generous soul and I am blessed to know him.

But why did it take so much longer to get there than it did to get home? Oh...that sleeping in the car thing again. Got it.

V-Day Part 2

Remember KLL? My work girlfriend? The girl who danced with the hula hoop wearing some crazy-ass 1980s clothes? Yeah, her. She made my Valentine's Day soooo special. Check out the Hello Kitty watch she gave me! And a do-goodie! And she made me a card. And more! She's Awesome. In fact, she's so awesome.....she found this great little bag:

Maybe being rich is awesome. I wouldn't know, after all, I chose non-profit. But you know what is definitely awesome? Bill payments. Teeth. Pets. Don't believe me? Just see below...

She's A Peach, She's A Doll, She's a Pal of Mine

pic from the NYTimes.

Ohhhhhhhh...go see Coraline (in 3-D if you can.) She's brave, she's adventurous, she saves the day! I know, I know, the mom characters may be a bit problematic (one unattached and one evil.) It was so rich and scary and angsty. I loved, loved, loved, the beet-embracing Mr. Bobinsky. And Miss Spink and Miss Forcible - fab-u-lous!

V-Day Part 1

What's better than Newark on erev Valentines Day? NOTHING.

I went to this amazing supper club called Lancer's in Newark (try finding it in the web - I dare you!). So. Much. Fun. I wore a real dress and (ready?) mascara. Two bands - bachata, merengue, salsa, and cumbia. The band played this song and did a great job of it, too!

At Lancer's I learned an important fashion lesson - a tube top can fix any apparel problem! Shirt too big? Throw on a tube top. To small? Tube top. Need a mini skirt? You guessed - a tube top!

Towards the end of the evening the dance floor transformed into the Lido Deck when the band broke out a version of (you gotta sing it - "First I was afraid, I was petrified....") I Will Survive!!!

The great thing about Newark is that its a 10 minute ride home. What do you mean I fell asleep while we were still in the parking lot?

Check back for V-Day Part 2, because there is more to tell........

Orbs

Last year I found the most unusual soft, spiny orb and I gave it to my colleague, R. (who, I can now say, is the meatball gestater.) It was big and yellow so I hung it in her office, like the sun. She, in return got me a gorgous green one. But then, one day, I found a beautiful blue one that...lights up!!!! See above!!!

Sadly, I did something awful and it deflated. Now it looks like a jellyfish, which is equally cool...

He Really Seems Like Such a Nice Guy

Kanwal Krishna/Agence France-Presse

Can you imagine what it might be like to wake up as Tenzin Gyatso, a two year-old cutie, only to be told you are the reincarnation of Thubten Gyatso, the 13th Dalai Lama? Or if your a mom, strolling your toddler to Tibetan Gymboree (do they have Gymboree in Tibet - I'm doubting it) and the priests tell you that the "omens, portents and meteorological signs" all point to your kid as the Bodhisattva of Compassion and patron saint of Tibet? Well, read more about it in today's NYT...
